Reflection
This one was practiced less. Similar to the 2-hr set I did at CSMA sometime back, the portion that I practiced more for was executed better. What I learned from this is to practice more and my execution will be better.
Imagine that.
This set felt a bit less cohesive and blended than the other. While it was all a similar mood overall, the melodies and basslines felt a bit more like the sudden changes you might hear on a radio mix or something, and less like the typical blends I try to do. I think I need more liquid / funky D&B material to work with, to better blend these tracks together. Also to practice them more.
I was disappointed to learn that one of the tracks I found while studying my material the night before, Make It Tonight, is not on the LP release of “True Colors” that I have. I did find it on Discogs as a separate single, so I’ll be picking that up in a month or so.
I have some potential b2b opportunities where I will likely be able to play more of this kind of D&B, so that should afford more practice time for this material.
