Overview
Design and restructure an existing website for a game studio.
Background
Stillfleet is, in its own words:
Stillfleet is a grimdark, taxpunk, politically charged tabletop roleplaying game (RPG) set in space, far into the ruinous future. Using a unique, highly flexible rules system, players explore ruined spacecraft—hulks—as well as earth-like planets that have been cut off from Terra for centuries.
The game has been in development for over a decade, but in the past few years has made some pretty huge breakthroughs, including a successful kickstarter campaign (featuring a book I wrote, The Rain Thieves), the first-run printing of the beautiful hardback Core Rulebook, and some exciting new business relationships with distributors.
Stillfleet has grown into Stillfleet Studio (the parent company that produces the eponymous game, among others).
The site was previously built in 2021. It was built in Wordpress.
The Work
The request for work was to rebuild the website to be faster, quicker to edit, and to restructure the information architecture to accommodate the rapidly growing game and content offerings.
This is paid work, to be funded in part by the next Kickstarter campaign for an exciting new game we’re publishing, Blistercritters. It has a deadline that is mid-January, to do the changeover, followed by a second-deadline a couple weeks after for the remainder of the new content.
I will be responsible for doing:
- the site migration
- construction (HTML)
- styling (CSS)
- deployment
- fabrication of visual assets where needed (some will be provided)
Conclusion
Site officially launched first week of February. Some additional work to be performed afterwards, as well as some ongoing maintenance. A success, overall, though!
