Digital Paintovers on Original Sketches

Started

Overview

This series encompasses digital paintovers of sketches that I did a few years ago. They are all abstract / surreal. Digital paintover means that I would be scanning the image into my computer, and using a Wacom Tablet with stylus to colorize and elaborate on the source image.

No AI or generative media will be used for this.

Completion is defined as “the works are done, framed, and hangable on the wall.” Depending on how they are at the end, I may see about getting them submitted for a gallery showing somewhere in town. I would like to try and get 5 completed, but maybe more.

Background

Early last year, I picked up a Wacom tablet for a project and started doing some digital art. Two years ago I had done some sketches that I thought would be worth exploring in color. The original sketches were done on Bristol paper (11x14”) using a 2B woodless pencil.

The Work

I am not requiring that this involve commerce because that’s not what I want to drive my creative process, but I am not opposed to that. I would like to finally have some art shown in a gallery in town somewhere and this could be the works that I do that with. Since these are fully original, that would be feasible.
